Questions

The NHS has so little help to offer as the Government see mental ill health as a low priority.

But, if you are reading this web site, you will know your mental health is a PRIORITY. Poor mental health affects all areas of your life: work, home, colleagues, family, peers, and general interaction with society.

Take a look at the following questions and see how many are applicable to you and your situation at the moment?

Have you been

·        to your GP and only been offered medication to help you?

·        to a therapist and felt stuck, or no better off, but worse off financially?

·        taking medication and found it to be ineffective?

Do You

·        feel totally misunderstood?

·        have thoughts and feelings that frighten or overwhelm you?

·        often feel sad, or have long periods of feeling low?

·        get angry and snap at people?

·        say "yes" to others demands but really want to say "no"?

·        often feel intimidated by others, or coerced into doing something against your will?

·        sleep more and do less?

·        feel so stressed that you only have time to REACT to situations as they happen?

·        remember the last time you laughed like a child?

·        resort to self abuse [i.e. over eating or under eating, excess alcohol, drugs, excess smoking, or being a workaholic]?

·        feel so backed into a corner, the only way out is suicide?

 IS

·        self harming the only control you have in your life?

·        your sexuality making you feel that life is not worth living?

·        your sexuality making you feel you have to live two separate lives dependant on friends and family reactions?

·        food the only control you have in your life?

·        taking the medication causing more problems [ie side effects], and so exacerbating your mental ill health?

Are you afraid of other peoples’ reactions/opinions so much it makes you miserable or anxious?

Has your self care gone down in your standards?
