The individual often experiences hallucogenic thoughts which are destructive to the individual's mind, self esteem, and soul. Many refer to religion or another voice[s] controlling them. It is extremely distressing to the individual with carers having to react to unpredictable behaviour and statements. Schizophrenia has to be managed with prescribed medication as otherwise these individuals suffer with depression and paranoia.
